log_check

What it checks

log_check runs five integrity checks over a contest log and highlights the suspect QSOs right in the table:

• Rare DXCC — QSOs whose worked entity is on the “most-wanted” list. In a normal log a stray rare country is almost always a busted callsign. pink.
• Exchange bust — a station sends the same exchange all contest, so when its received-exchange value disagrees across that station’s QSOs the odd one out is flagged. If 90%+ of the log carries one value the exchange is treated as fixed and lone deviations are flagged too. The exchange field is auto-detected (override in the drop-down). yellow.
• Zone vs. entity — the logged CQ/ITU zone is checked against the zone(s) the worked country actually lies in; a mismatch usually means a busted callsign or a mis-typed zone.
• Callsign plausibility — flags callsigns that map to no DXCC/ITU country (an exotic prefix, almost always a typo) or aren’t a valid call shape.
• Near-dupe / UBN — a callsign worked once that is one letter off a busier multi-band station — a likely mis-copy of that call.

Use ▸ Review issues to step through the flags one at a time, apply the suggested fix, edit a cell inline, or delete a QSO.

Local data policy

🔒 Your log is processed entirely in your browser on this device. It is never uploaded, sent to a server, or stored in the cloud. The lookup tables (DXCC / ITU / most-wanted) are static files served with the page; nothing about your log leaves your computer. Closing the tab discards everything — there is no account and no storage.

Log / ADI in

Open a contest log with Open log…. Two formats are accepted and the format is auto-detected:

• ADIF — .adi / .adif
• Cabrillo — .log (the QSO: lines)

Log / ADI out

Save… writes your corrected log back in the same format it was loaded in (ADIF in → ADIF out, Cabrillo in → Cabrillo out), as <name>_checked.adi / .log. Cabrillo saves preserve the original header, footer and column alignment; only edited QSO: lines change.

Save also writes a companion <name>_changes.txt containing:

• the check-results summary,
• a summary of changes — every QSO modified (field by field), removed, or added, and
• a unified diff of the original vs the saved log.

Keep it with your log entry as a record of exactly what you corrected.
